Pangong Lake is famous for its shimmering shades of blue, shifting from teal to turquoise to deep indigo throughout the day. To capture these shifting colors, timing is critical.
1. Use a circular polarizing filter (CPL) to cut glare from water reflections and make the sky pop.
2. Shoot at golden hour (around 6:30 AM or 5:30 PM) when the mountains are saturated in warm tones.
3. Keep your ISO low (100) and use a tripod to compose wide panoramas. Avoid shooting during mid-day when the harsh overhead sun washes out the color layers.
